FLORENCE W. KUIPERS MEMORIAL PARK
Hackettstown, New Jersey
A passion for horses and a love of riding brought Florence to the towpath of the former Morris Canal. She became an early member of the Warren County Morris Canal Committee and Board of Recreation Commissioners. She was active with the 4-H Horse Club and began to promote the vision of agreenway across Warren County so the public could enjoy using the canal towpath as a trail. While postmaster at Delaware, New Jersey, Florence would deliver mail on horseback each year on Customer Appreciation Day. She was always positive in her thoughts of the “possibilities”.
